G'Day !!
Just acquired a 4Gb SDHC card for my camera. OK transferring pics from the camera via USB cable, but my card reader in the PC, and also a "dongle" type reader I have, will not recognise the card. Stupid question probably, but do I need a new reader for the SDHC card, as opposed to an ordinary SD card ? Any help would be appreciated.

Yes you do. Different formats. Many sdhc cards come with a free reader. Yours didn't so you can buy something like this:

Go to your camera site and download an up-to-date reader driver and install it. N.B: Remove all instances of your existing 1 first and make sure your anti virus program is closed!!

If you have a built-in card reader in your computer then check the manufaturer's website, as usually a simple driver update will allow it to read SDHC cards. SDHC use the FAT32 filesystem to allow larger memory sizes, and this upgrade is easily implemented via a driver update
