Can anyone tell me why when you go to pick a new piece of furniture for your home you are quoted a delivery time of 6-10 weeks. I know some designer/unusual or individual pieces are made to order but I'm talking about popular ranges from big manufacturers like e.g G-Plan, Parker Knoll etc. I find it soooo frustrating........you empty the room, paint and put up new wallpaper and then have to wait this in-ordinate length of time for your new furniture.

Cynical me thinks it gives them time to bring it from some foreign sweatshop in a big container ship so that mugs like us can keep the Capitalist System working, thinking that we`re buying British at enormous expense. Never quite felt the same since I found out that McIntosh furniture was made out of chipboard. I never should have read `1984`.
