Has anyone got good words about the Spanish restaurant "La Tasca"?
I'd be interested to know if their Spanish cuisine is authentic. I know that they do "Tapas for a Tenner"-is that any good?

not sure about tapas for a tenner, i have been to the one in middleton it is authentic and very nice but your eyes are always bigger than your belly here!
i had always been a huge fan of La Tasca, as there's one fairly near to me in Birmingham. had been there quite a few times and the food & sangria was always gorgeous.

we went there for Valentines tho, and the food and service were absolutely awful. We complained and they refunded the cost of our meal and did admit there were several problems on the night. They promised to take good care of us if we came back, but so far we have not. I think you shoud avoid them if they have a set menu on, which is the problem we had when we went, they put no effort in at all, the foood was cold or overcooked and way overpriced, and we weren't allowed to order from the regular menu.

As i said, tho, the food had always been great before that, so i may find it in my heart to forgive them soon.
I've been a couple of times and I think their tapas is very expensive. Nice grub though. The service isn't too brilliant but I guess that's dependant on which restaurant you go to.

Never heard of the 'tapas for a tenner' either.
I think it depends on which one you go to to get decent service.

I love the food in La Tasca, the service in the one based in the Trafford centre is really good - it usually costs us around 25 for the two of us.
However, the one in Chester wasn't as nice.

I've not heard of Tapas for a tenner either. - maybe it's just a promotion at your local restaurant.
Hi F - La Tasca is a chain of 50 + locations, so expect their to be formula eating - they do use expressions like'...our famous meatballs...' which makes me shudder to see on menus.
The Tapas for a Tenner is not available at all the La Tasca locations by the way, so maybe it is a marketing scheme to get the diners interested at he under performing sites.....restaurants need clients. and chains of restaurants need more clients, and deals and offers are the first tool to get business......

Where are you living? Edinburgh for example has some really nice alternatives to chain-store restaurant meals, like Dionika, Tapas Ole (awful name but excellent food) or possibly the best in town is Barioja, next door to the established Spanish restaurant Iggs.
I wasn't particuarly impressed when I went there. Food was cold and it was pretty expensive for what you got.
I've been to the one in Belfast a few times now and has always been lovely. Not sure how authentic because I've only eaten in the touristy areas of spain but i would say it is one of my favourite restaurants
been to the one in glasgow, food was nice,

www.latasca.co.uk -you will see the Tapas for a Tenner promotion there.

I live in Greater London. I know that there is one in canary wharf and one in covent garden. I will def try it out real soon!
Been to the one In Manchester (Deansgate) a few times and enjoyed it. It does get very loud and has been very busy everytime we go. Just get a bit of an impression of being on a conveyor belt but apart from that great
The Tapas for a Tenner deal is fantastic. We told the waitress to keep sending a selction out to us, and we ate very well!!
I really like La Tasca... the only downside is that it's too loud... My favourites are the white wine chicken, and the meatballs in tomato sauce...
Oh by the way - they only do "Tapas for a Tenner" at certain times of the day, so best contact them and ask if they do it before going..
