Read somewhere once that a sustance had been found so heavy that an amount the size of a matchbox weighed near a ton. True or false please

Thats light! the contents of your average white dwarf weigh millions of times more, Nuetron star? off the scale!
As Loosehead says a teaspoonful of neytron star material would weigh as much as a hundred million elephants.

More prosaically the densest known earthly material is an Iridium ore at nearly 20g per cc so If we're talking found on Earth I doubt it, if we're talking Astronomically it's a lightweight
iridium and osmium both have relative densities around 22.6
I was referring to Chengdeite (Ir3 Fe) as the densest natural material that you can "find " @19.3g/cc
