hi, can anyone help me here? i lost my job about 18 months ago and as a result of this my credit rating took a dive, i have a ccj in my name and poor credit. i have now regained full time employment and need somewhere to pay my wages into..but no matter what i do i dont seem to be able to open up a bank account! i posted a similar question about a week ago and was advised to try the nat west step account as it seemed most likely i would be accepted, i was turned down. i have also tried the coop bank and nationwide but to no success as yet! what else can i do? i need my wages paid into something! help!

good luck
Try a Nationwide flexaccount
I would recommend opening up a Savings account - Abbey have a very good savings account where you can have wages paid into etc. They will not Credit Score you so all you need is proof of address, driving licence and your wage slip.
you can get a cashplus debit mastercard, guaranteed acceptance,
you can have your wages paid in direct,
use it anywhere but if you need cash its 2 from a machine but you can get 500 out at a bank for 3
Try any building society basic savings account, you will only get a cashcard, no debit card facility or cheque book, most will allow direct debits.
If you need a debit card, get a post office travel money card in s, there is a fee for using and topping up but no credit check and no credit.
Hope this helps
post office card account
Abbey do a basic account that my partner was accepted for and he had loads of bad credit and 2 ccjs, it is no frills with no debit card just cash card and no over draft or chq book you cant withdraw money over the counter either but I got round this by opeing a savings account and transfering money when ever I needed to withdraw at the counter.
you can have standing orders and direct debits and wages paid in and you can manage it online and over the phone. I think it is briliant the best one I have seen, to apply you need to go into your local branch but in the mean time check it out at www.abbey.co.uk hope that helps.
