Sorry you can not.
Park one of these outside your house.
Anybody has the right to park their vehicle outside your house, and you have no more right than anyone else to park there.

This of course applies where there are no parking restrictions in force.

Obstructing the driveway is a different matter - if he has the proper dropped kerb. Any
vehicle obstructing an access is deemed to be
causing an obstruction and the police may be
able to assist in removing the obstruction.

So there is absolutely nothing you can do.
apply to the council to drop the kerb outside your house, then he won't be able to park there.
In all fairness to mr angry, whoever he may be, if the street is so narrow that parking in front of a house with a van blocks the light, then there is an issue here. the man has 2 vehicles and a van, he obviously lives in a street that is like mine, with street fronted houses, he therefore is being unreasonable in parking the van infront of someone elses window and not his, i would ecrtainly speak to him and ask that he parks the van infront of his own window. In our street, it is so narrow we can only park on one side of the street, the houses opposite have no off street parking and there are 4 of them, each house has a car, i have 3 cars at this house and i am the only house with no off street parking, it is very difficult but with consideration we have all got used to parking with some thought and we leave room for all the cars. this person needs to be more reasonable and you should go and speak to him in his own home and ask him if he could come into your house and see the problem his van creates. He may be a threatening git now, but if you smile and ask him in he will have to change his ways.
May be you can get him on a right to light order!

See 'ancient lights' on this site.
Mustafa tickl - HA HA that was a genius idea!! AWESOME!! Where do i get one of those??
No chance of ancient lights unless its been there for over 20 years. Very creative, but not much more.
Only thing I can think of is buy an old banger (or motorbike would be cheaper), keep it MOT'd and insured (& taxed of course) and park it outside your house and keep it there, at least it prevents him from parking outside yours!

Good suggestion about letting him see just how much light his truck blocks out, nobody likes to fall out (some people bank on this to be able to do what the hell they like!) he maybe more reasonable when he sees it from your side.
