limewire

I am having trouble downloading with Limewire. My ISP is Tiscali. Apparently it is a common occurence for Tiscali and some other ISPs to block these downloads.

Does anyone have any idea how to overcome the problem without changing my ISP

try ares. i'm on tiscali and it works fine. good luck!

turn off your firewall when downloading. problem solved. however this can be very dangerous as you are leaving your computer open to viruses.

If you have norton antivirus software simply turn that one off and you wont have that last problem!

if you've paid for it (ie. the Pro version) then you're fine, as I understand it. If you've downloaded it for free and you're filesharing without paying then obviously that ain't legal.

Any chance of clarifying the position of legality re: Pro version and free version.

Does downloading the Pro version mean Tiscali will allow me to download files?

I tried Ares and managed ! download before encountering the same problem.

I don't really want to pay a subscription , only to find that the problem remains the same!
