Arrest warrants and travelling abroad

Hi,

I am going to the states with 6 friends in 2 weeks and have experienced a problem with one of the people going. One of the girls due to come with us has announced she thinks she has an outstanding arrest warrent for non appearance in court for an outstanding driving offence (not drink driving). She is now worried she will get stopped in the USA. (she's off to turkey straight after too) - We are unsure of the facts and what she should do as we are unsure of how it will effect us and also if the passport checks in the us will show her criminal record or arrest warrant. She says she will sort it all out when she comes back (she isnt a dodgy kind of girl so we were all shocked ! think she has just been a wimp and avoided it!) but has paid for her ticket !

Does anyone know if this will flag up or if she just declares no convictions she can go on the holiday and do whatever she needs to do when she gets back?? Will any of us travelling with her have any remifications??

If the outstanding arrest warrant is in the UK then the US authorities will not know of it.

If it's in the US then they probably will.

Your post isn't very clear on this point though you probably mean the former.

It will not affect the rest of you.

sorry yes the arrest warrant is in the uk. Thanks for that. So she should be ok to fly?

I see that yir son also has a possible outstanding warrant because of a motoring offence and is also going to America in a few weeks' time
