I am on cilest. I have no problems with it whatsoever. There's no real need to be worried about going on the pill unless you smoke as that's really bad for you. At first i was on Microgynon 30, which i think is the most common form of the pill, but i couldnt get on with them, i felt sick the whole time and put on loads of weight. Ciklest has done nothing like that, they are easier to take as each pill is exactly the same (some pills do different things as you prgress through the month, so theres no chance of mixing anything up) and i also NEVER
I have been on Microgynon for 3 years now, and have had no problems in fact , my periods are now shorter and I no longer suffer from crippling cramps every month. Plus I can pin point when Im going to get my period nearly to the hour! Also if your holiday or a special event falls on a day of your period just take two packs back to back and youll skip a months period. Ive never suffered any side effects so I have nothing but praise for it!
i am on Cilest and have found these to be the best. I have no side effects at all. the only reson you need to be nervous about going on the pill is if you smoke as its really bad to be on the pill and smoke. at first i was put on microgynon 30 - not sure of the spelling! This seems to be the most popular pill, but i couldnt get on with them. they made me feel sick all the time and i put on loads of weight. But i've had no problems with cilest. And i now NEVER get spots! Its great!! have a chat with your doctor so he can put your mind at rest though.
Hmmm, seems something went wrong with my post!!! the first one hasn't come out right for some reason!!
I am on Logynon and have no problems with it all. It's one of those one for three diff pills though - depending on where you are in your cycle - but it is so easy to take. I've had no side effects at all - best bit is that I no longer get cramps which used to be horrific! When I first started taking it I felt quite hormonal at a certain day of the month but I knew exactly when that was going to be and it went away after the 1st 6 months.

Anyway, your doctor will let you know which pill is the best to take.
I put on weight with the pill.  I now have one of those implants in your arm that last for 3 years.  I highly recommend it have had no problems with it, it didn't hurt, I have'nt had a period since I got it in 6 months ago and I've lost weight or that might be my healthy eating and daily dog walking
My wife was on the pill for many years. As a result, she now suffers from thrombosis and will have to take Warfarin for the rest of her life. She also has to have a monthly check-up at the hospital to ensure that her blood is OK.
It's not all good news, I'm afraid.
different pills work for different people.  whichever one your doctor puts you on can change it if it creates nausea etc.  each pill has different level levels of hormones and for some people it can take time to find the right one for you.
I'm taking Microgynon and have absolutely no trouble with it at all. Like Charliebaps said - everyone is different and everyone reacts differently to different Pills - if the one the doc gives you doesn't suit you, simply go back to the docs and try a different one!

My periods have been much easier (lighter and no cramps) since taking it as well (and I've been on the Pill for 15 years (apart from the year gap where I was trying to and succeeded in conceiving))!

I've tried loads of different pills because I got horrible side effects from a lot of them. First one I gained loads of weight, second one I used to get thrush from on a monthly basis, third one weight gain again, forth migraines. Then I decided to have a coil but had to have it taken out 4 years later as I had developed endometriosis (don't know if it was related to the coil). Got put on the pill again - Ovranette but that one made my libido none existant. Now I'm on Cilest which apparently is also the most recommended by gynaecologists for endometriosis sufferers and so far it's all good. And best of all I'm back to being a nympho again.

So as others have said it's all about trying to see which one works best for you

i was on microgynen for 2 years but my BP got dangerously high... i am now on cerazette which is only the mini pill but am finding it very good
I was on the pill with no problems for several years but i had to stop when I was having operations on my leg and when I tried to start taking it again something must have changed within my system cos it just didn't agree with me at all.  I tried several different brands and had a variety of side effects - feeling sick, constant PMT, headaches - and gave up in the end.
I've been on Cilest for 3 months but doc has told me to come off it asap as i have been suffering really migraines during my pill free week. I'm quite glad really as I am starting to put weight on too, despite no change in my appetite or diet.... I'm going to get a coil fitted.
