I am craving jelly at the moment so eat the low sugar variety. I recall when I was little, my Nanna said it would make my hair and nails grow strong. Now obviously I don't believe this but it did make me wonder...does jelly have ANY benefits whatsoever?

One of the obvious benefits would be that eating the jelly would satisfy your craving for it!!

Certainly, gelatin has been recommended for over 100 years as a way of improving brittle nails and hair. But some say they've tried it and it doesn't work for them. More recently it's been said that it helps ease athletes' joint pains, though medical people scoff at this. (They would, wouldn't they?)
It does indeed improve hair and nails. However thats the gelatin and I'd check the acutal jelly you are eating as it might not have any real gelatin in it.
Just recently a GP suggested to my friend she should eat a cube of jelly daily to improve her nails
She has been impressed with the results.
