Just saw a discussion in Film and TV about reality TV and one of the posters referred to a programme about anal bleaching. What is this procedure? Sounds painful!

I read a book recently about a girl who moves to LA with her scriptwriter friend. A character (porn actress) in the book has anal bleaching and it is to do with skin rather than hair. It's to make the skin around the anus whiter and apparently more attractive. It's very popular with models and actresses apparently!
