do you have to sign a confidentiality contract when you are employed by a bank, so as not to give out clients personal data, and does this stay with you even when you leave

I am trying to think what sort of recourse a bank could take against an ex-employee if the contract was breached, and can't think of any.

Unless there was an offence of the Data Protection Act.

Has an ex-employee been giving information about you?
I had to sign it when I worked for a bank but I can't remember whether it came with me when I left or not.
yeah i signed one and it did say that any information bout the bank or its customers was not to be disclosed by a bank employee. but i don't work for the bank anymore and i can see little action they could take if i did disclose info. not that i would
