but for the last few years, maybe 5 or so I keep getting this thing in my memory. Suddenly its like I get a flashback or am reminded of something that happened when I was younger (or maybe even pastlife :-s depending on what people believe) but it will only be for a split second and then GONE! but it never stays long enough for me to actually work out what the memory is of or when it was from. It must be triggered by something, maybe something related to the memory, all i can describe it as is something being in your mind and then disappearing and not being able remember what it was, like you've forgotten something.

its really bugging me coz I cant manage to work it out...... any body else have something like this or am i just weird???

You say it's only for a split second....I can't see how it would be able to trigger such memories if it's only for a short time that it is happening.

Is there any history of epilepsy in your family?

Thats what I mean cockneysi it isnt long enough for me to work out what it is all about, im just assuming that it may be about something from my childhood....

it like i get a split second reminder about something but it doesnt stay long enough to fully remember what it is im being reminded of.

And no, no history of epilepsy, why?

The reason why I asked about the epilepsy is because some sufferers of this often get a period when they just blank out for a short time without actually having a fit and not remember what happened.
Do you think it could be some sort of deja vu which is why you cant remember or know what it is?
You need to check with your doctor. It may be the onset of neurological disorders.
De ja vu was also what i was going to say the way you describe it is like how i have de ja vu's. something that quickly happens and i cant put my finger on what it is and what memory it is.

confused thats exactly how it happens to me...
Yes this has happened to me several times, weird isn't it! Sometimes it feels like I have experienced a past dream
When I was younger I used to have a kind of flash back where I'm walking down a path towards a carriage and when I looked down I saw that I was wearing a long striped dress with petticoats and embriodered shoes.
I don't know if this was a memory of a past life or what, but it was weird.
My sister had exactly as you described. She did go to her GP,had the full tests/scans,and it was diagnosed as a form of epilepsy due to a head injury she incurred in a serious car accident when she was 2.Her R temporal lobe was damaged. She is fine -it is managed by medication - when necessary -she isnt on it permanently but has to when she starts having 'episodes' again.
Have a word with your GP -if only to put your mind at ease.
Sorry-meant to add her episodes took her back to her childhood as well.
