Hi my wife has just finished teaching training but as yet has no job although she is looking. The thing is we have hit a bit of a sticky patch at the moment> We both have about 2000 on various credit cards and I have a loan of approximately 10000 left from a car loan i took out before we met. Should we get one of those consolodation loans that give us a bit of help and breathing space to get back on our feet ? I know that you pay a lot in the long term though but I cant see any other way. I am currently on 18,000 per year and my wife isnt earning yet but could potentialy be on 20000 when employed. Could I get a loan on my salary?

Hi stan, if you own your own house without a mortgage go for an equity release loan, if you have a mortgage talk to the lender about increasing the mortgage, if you rent talk to your bank, and take out a personal loan, don't go to one of these places that advertise on the tele, good luck, hope you get it sorted, Ray

Another thing you should consider is getting rid of the car and buting a small diesel car, you must economise every way you can.
