I would like to use my PC analogue monitor to display the output of my DVD recorder. The recorder's TV Scart has RGB pairs of pins I can connect to, but to which of the Scart pins should I connect the vertical and horizontal sync signals the monitor requires?

As TVs have their own sync generators, I believe that there are no sync connections in the SCART spec. Maplin do a gadget that provides a sync generator to allow you to connect a DVD or VCR to a monitor, but the monitor must work at a specific horizintal frequency. I tested one on 7 different makes/models of TFT monitor, and could not get it to sync correctly on any of them.

I wish you luck, but fear that you are not going to succeed :-(
