Food Allergies?

All my life I have been handling and eating fruits and vegetables. Lately whenever I touch ANY of them my hands become unbearable itchy. I'm guessing I have become allergic to something in them. The itching stops when I run hot water on my hands. Any idea what might cause this to happen? All your advice, ideas and help welcome.

Has this happened to any one? Anyone heard of anything like this before?

Thanks

My wife developed this herself. Pretty sure tomotoes are a main culprit and very little we make is tomato free. We ended up buying some disposable food preparation gloves from Costco and that has helped immeasurably. I guess you could get them other places, but usually big savings on that sort of stuff in costco.
try tests to see what food might be causing it - make a note of what you handle and when (I know, tedious, but probably worth it if it helps solve the problem) and when you get a reaction; by a process of elimination you may be able to find out if it's citrus fruits, for instance.
