have d/loaded bog-standard freebee digi-camera from HEW-PAKARD. think I have everything right, but when I click to transfer pic,s to computer, bang," ILLEGAL OPERATION,, THIS PROG WILL CLOSE DOWN" ..I am still new to this, on Win.98,,aol ,,not b/band.. any help please

Are you on '98 or '98SE? If you are using the USB port to transfer the images on '98 rather than '98SE, it may not work. You are supposed to be able to get drivers to correct this, but I can't get a lot of USB devices to work on my '98 laptop (and because it has so many proprietary bits of software I can't update the OS).
