Need new mobile

My previous mobile a Nokia has packed up and won't work any more and I need a new one. It never was very satisfactory as the service provider o2 didn't support the particular model, I couldn't access the internet, use it for media messages or sending pictures, etc. I don't want to make the same mistake twice and haven't much technical knowledge. Please does anyone know a good source where I can buy a 'ready to use' new mobile with the various features ready installed? Thank you.
