Need some mobile advice please. Mine is on its last legs, so I’m looking for a new one - either a refurbished iPhone 7 (or above) or a brand new android. Need it for texting, Internet, photos and playing childish games. Needs to have 64gb of memory (for vast array of childish games) and be able to take my existing SIM card (I’ve learnt the number now and don’t want a new one). Any recommendations? Thank you

Depending on the physical size of your SIM, you may have to get a replacement. That doesn't mean you need to change your number. Pretty much any new Android phone will satisfy your needs. Might help if you gave us a budget, also, if you've purchased games, then you would be better off sticking with whichever platform (IOS or Android) your current phone is on.
Best budget one is the Moto G8. Although it is the Motorola name, it is made by Lenovo, one of the biggest computer manufacturers.

You can get one called the G8 power, with an extra long lasting battery for about £220.

Thanks both - looking to spend £200ish.
The G8 without the big battery is about £180 at Argos.

It is quite a big screen. Good for viewing, but a long reach if you type with one thumb.

I caved and bought a new iPhone 7 :)
Best stick with what you are happy with
I use the Moto these days. I bought 50 odd of them at the last company I was at. Great value phones. I had the dual sim one at only £200.

Iphones are overrated and overpriced. I refused to buy them. One manager insisted on buying them when they went wrong I refused to service them. He moved to Moto's.
I'm very surprised you were able to find an iPhone 7 in the UK with 64GB! Well done.

Amazon is your friend (but I went for 34gb as I’ve only used 14gb on my current phone and I was trying to justify the expense (I never buy myself anything nice)).
I'd have preferred a new android to a 4 year old iPhone but each to their own

I like iPhones because they work the same as my tablet (which is also ancient) and stuff stored on one can be seen on the other. Also, I really can’t be arsed to learn how to use an android and I felt like spoiling myself. Yes, it’s expensive for an old bit of kit but it’s what I wanted.
Sometimes it's nice to treat yourself to what you really want.
Congratulation on the new smartphone.
