Is it possible to change to colour of a Windows folder so that it stands out from the normal yellow ones - It's XP

It is not an inbuilt feature of XP but there are many 3rd party applications which can achieve this.

Yes - it's quite easy.

Right click on the folder you wish to change. Click properties.

Now click the 'customize' tab - and then the change icon

A box with a lot of icons will appear - choose the one you want, click apply and 'ok'.

If there are none there that you fancy you can use your own pictures, photos or download fancy icons from the internet.
...although for non-system folders you can customise them by applying to them either an icon or an image.

Right-click on the folder and select Properties → Customize then either Choose Picture... or Change Icon...

I've been using XP for years and never knew about the customise option
