i have bought a car 3 weeks ago from motorpoint in newport. When i picked the car up i was given one coded key. I was told that the other key,drivers handbook and service history would be sent within two weeks I have phoned motorpoint several times and their attitude is if these documents dont turn up then it is up to me to replace them. any idea where i stand in this situation, new coded key costs �100 and books about �12 the car is an ex avis car

i think thats terrible! So someone could be walking around with your car key and address (although why couldnt they give you these documents at the time i wonder?)
surely if they are saying royal mail has lost it then its up to them to claim compensation from rm with which to reimburse you?
If it has got lost in the post, im afraid you have to wait 28 days before rm will even consider it lost
Sounds like they are not fulfilling their side of the contract. Threaten them that if they do not resolve this within a reasonable period of time you will take them to the small claims court not only for the missing items but the cost of having the locks changed on your car.
If it comes to it you can now do the small claims online via Northampton County Court, it's very easy.
