Just try not to think about it. Worrying won't change the outcome and its gonna happen eventually so think about or do something else to keep your mind off it. I give myself that talking to each time and if I try not to think about it until its drilling time, then its too late to worry and get scared about it. Good luck x
The only hint I can give you twiglet is to advise you to think that later today you can relax that its all over and done , and tomorrow is a new day. I too am terrified of dentists so you certainly have my empathy . All the best love , let us know how you got on when it will be all over . :-) xx
I've had a tooth out - it really isn't as bad as you think it's going to be - more uncomfortable than painful. Don't worry, it'll all be fine.
Gosh, nervous? arent we all! Dental treatment is relatively painless today. Even injections are almost pain free with the pre-anaesthetic available. Most dentists are understanding and considerate not like the drunken butcher that I suffered through my early years so if you explain that you are very nervous (which almost everyone is), they should be able to calm you and put you at ease, and use whatever natural or manufactured means there are to avert any discomfort. Most of the discomfort is the anticipated sound, smell and roughness rather than any actual pain. Before you know it, it will all be over and you will be left with less teeth, but wondering what all the worry was about.
oh thats sooo weird!! i am the same !! got the dentist at 4:50pm and i am terrified again!!

good luck with yours, just think, this time tomorrow it will aaaalll be over!!
Ps I dont know what sex you are, but my wife was a dental nurse for years and she said that young and middle aged men are the worst and she had a few that cried, if not passed out, before anything was even done. So dont be afraid to tell the dentist you are nervous, even if that alone makes you feel better.

I dont mean any of this to make you worse by the way, just to let you know that most dentists these days compensate and are prepared for clients who are petrified at the mere sound of a dentists drill from the waiting room.

thankyou all....I am female and 30 so feel as though I should be able to cope better than I am but I am sitting here feeling sick to the stomach with worry.
dont think about it ,just do it.
Hitch, Your mad enough to do that but some of us are not
twiglet3 , i am the same. leaving work in an hour and feel sick. take care and let us know how you get on xx
Everyone hates dentist and I always hate the way they try and have a conversation with you in the middle of them putting their hands in your mouth.

Try and ask the dentist afterwards if there are any foods you should eat or avoid to prevent further occurences of teeth needing to be taken out and filled.

Good luck.
I used to be terrified of the dentist when younger & my heart used to beat really fast every time I sat in that chair!

That was until I had children of my own & had to appear brave when I took them for their 6 monthly check ups! It helped me no end to be brave for myself & the fear soon dwindled!

I'm sure you'll be fine twiglet - deep breath & soldier on. -x-

Hoping both you and rom are now safely back home relaxing and hope you found it not as bad as your worry was. Hope you both feel ok , if a bit sore as yet . All the best xx
