Honeysuckle mildew problem

My honeysuckle appears to be suffering from mildew and bud-drop. Any ideas what may causing this? Also, suggestions for remedies would be most welcome.

Yes it sounds like you have a case of the dreaded Powdery milldew on your hands.
The cause is most likely, dry heat and shad, in that order.

You could try spraying with a fungiside such as 'mancozeb' at 10- 14 day intervals. Good luck. Tbird+

Thanks for the diagnosis, Tbird. Dry heat is a definite possibility, as the plant is in full sun for most of the day (when sun is out, of course!). I have a soaker-hose watering system, but that will only keep the roots moist. I'll certainly try spraying with a fungicide, assuming I can find an eco-friendly one.
