How can i remove biro marks off my brand new sofa? J

I learnt years ago that eau de cologne should be used. This site http://www.pioneerthinking.com/stainremovers.html suggests that alcohol is the thing. So mother was right

I read a tip in a newspaper: use hairspray on leather. It may work on fabric but you'd better try it out on an old bit of similar fabric. 19scar.

hairspray or i use nail varnish remover on leather.test it first.
