is it possible to retreve emails recieved from files when they have been deleted

errr, files are attached to emails , not emails to files, so a bit confused?

outlook,
outlookexpress,
ms Exchange?

or something else?

i think it is outlook but i am not to sure a bit old to grasp the comp the problem was i was sent by email anumber i deleated to quick
