I left school at 16 with good GCSE grades but I was never keen on school and had an urge to get money in my pocket. I went to work at our family construction company and basically ran it alongside my dad for five years during this time I did all the accounts, invoicing, typing paperwork etc. By the time my dad decided he wanted to retire last year I was married, owned my own home had a nice car etc I decided on a new challenge and opened a shoe shop (I adore shoes) it's going really well but during winter it's so boring and I was wondering if I could use some of my previous business knowledge to become a bookeeper, secretary or typist etc from the shop. Only problem is although I'm weighed down and old beyond my years with experience I don't actually have any qualifications and no idea of how to go about this venture, anybody any ideas?

there are some great courses that you can do now in your spare time. if you want to get a qualification in bookkeeping, then this is a good one to try: http://www.aat.co.uk/join/display/store4/item2 70/

you can work through the modules at home in your own time.
