Has anyone done (or is doing) a PGCE for little kids (5-11) who idnt have a very good mark for their degree? Everyone is asking for a 2.1 or above and i only got a 2.2....i've only ever wanted to be a teacher and am worried i wil not be accepted...Did anyone get accepted who had under a 2.1? Also is the course good? Do you enjoy it?

Thanks

PGCE's are hugley popular courses for many reasons and thus admissions tutors/departments can cherry-pick applicants. There maybe a possibility of being accepted on a 2:2 but that would likey be in a lower league/ post 93 university. I know thats not the answer you want to hear but its the truth.

On the whole 'enjoying' the course is dependant on whether you enjoy teaching. The majority of the course will be based in classroom placements so it will be a baptism of fire (although you should have classroom experience before applying, most universities require it).

Thus you will find out very quickley if you really can be a teacher, as opposed to 'really wanting to be a teacher' (in which case shouldnt you have done a BEd degree or something that would lead to a QTS in the first place?

i know i will enjoy it as i enjoy teaching.

And no i didnt want to do a "BEd degree or something that would lead to a QTS in the first place" as i wanted my degree -then if i want to progress to secondary education i can become an English teacher as this is what my degree was in.

Thanks
