I have an interview to hopefully get a place on a pgce (Physical Education) course next week. First of all there is a an essay which involves responding to an issue relating to the national curriculum. then there is an interview. I would be very greatful if anyone could give any tips relating to what the interviewers might be looking for. If anyone who has gone through the interview process for PGCE (PE) could give me ny advice it would be much appreciated

swat up on your national curriculum and the department of education website so you know any recent developments/debates. Also make sure you are ready to answer questions on equal opportunities, differentiation, discipline, special needs....hopefully more people will respond.... i think everyone has different experiences..
In my experience they really want to know if teaching is for you, and not just a stop-gap, or blind career move, so be prepared to say why you really want to do this. They may ask you why you have chosen the age group you have- such as junior or secondary. Make sure you have a good answer for this too!

research the curriculum and buzz words. as long as you can demonstrate passion for the subject and teaching your chosen age group, and you're well informed it should be great!! good luck
