Is Harry Potter half-blood or pureblood? It says in the 2nd and 5th books that he is halfblood, yet both his parents are wizards. What do you think?

I was wondering exactly the same thing!!! My guess would be that he isn't either really. I mean both his parents were wizards, but since Harry's mom was a mudblood, Harry doesn't have true pure blood. But I really don't know the answer!!!!!!!!!

Yes Harry is Half Blood. But yet his mother and father were both Wizards. BUT. Harry's mother was muggle born. just like hermione. Harrys mom is a mudblood like hermione. ok think of it this way Mudblood = 0 Half Blood = 1 Pure blood = 2 When a Baby is born U add bot parents together and divide by 2 to get what the wizard is. James Potter is 2 Lily Evans is 0 (2+1)/2=1 Harry is Half Blood When U are muggle born and study magic, U are considered a Witch or wizard. But the Half blood / Pure blood thing is determine whether U have Muggle blood and Wizard blood. I hope this clears it up a little. Please w/b soon and let me no if it helps

I also agree with harryfan. He is half muggle born and half pure blood it is like saying someone is half french and Italian they are half blooded. It just works.

i think that he is a half-blood, because his oarents where mudbloods, because they had muggle parents. that would make harry a half-blood, bcause his parents wernt FULLY wizzards, right?

This is all very confusing. But I agree with Bubble. I was always wondering why they said he was half-blood, if his mother was a witch and his father was a wizard. I'm still stumped.

I partly agree with harryfan but he hasn't mentioned where muggle parents comes in to his equation and if he puts muggle parents as -1 then Voldemort would be a 0.5 (half way between half blood and mudblood)which would make the prophecy in the 5th book wrong harry and voldemort aren't equals

Sorry to keep picking harryfan but for harry to be equal to tom riddle his dad would have to be a halfblood in your equation.
