Does anyone know the best way to get through to Sky tv? I've tried phoning at different times and there's always a long wait (20 minutes or more) and I refuse to hang on that long. I've sent them 3 emails telling them I want to cancel my subscription but I've not had a reply. I suppose I will have to cancel my Direct Debit and wait and see what happens.

You'll always have to wait but certainly choosing the option to cancel will make them keep you hanging on even longer! I found the quickest way to actually get to speak to someone (and this works with any company not just Sky) is to choose the option for paying a bill. If they think they're getting money out of you they answer the phone quicker! You then have to get them to transfer you to the right department. Still takes a while but usually quicker.

Emailing and saying you want to cancel is never likely to get a response, they don't let you get away that easily!!

Thank you, annavc, I'll try that.
Also please remember that you are paying a "premium" rate to call them. 0870 calls cost about 7-8p/min, of which Sky get about 50% - so it isn't in their interest to answer quickly. Go ahead and cancel the direct debit. You have given them fair notice.

Thanks for your help, BenDtoy.
Try calling the geographical number for Sky
found this site.

It gives it as 01506 831781, it also gives freephone number 0800 2346019. I don't know how reliable the site is, but it's worth giving it a go.
