What is unusual about the Pratt's Club in London?

Possibly the fact that one of the rules of the club is that no member may bring a non-member into the club on any pretence whatever.

It is the private property of one person - The Duke of Devonshire - & is not owned by its members.

Almost certainly, the required answer is the first of those given by kettledrum - ie: that every waiter is addressed as "Geoge". This saves members wracking their brains trying to remember the names of the staff!

Thank you Devonian and Kettledrum. The answer was that all the staff are called George! No-one got the answer correct in time - I couldn't find any references on google!

Hi Kettledrum,

It was late when I asked the question - I was clutching at straws because I couldn't find anything about Pratts Club - neither could anyone else at the time, because the point went to the question setter. Radio Newcastle sets a couple of questions each evening - a bit of fun. The idea is that at the end of the week either the listeners or the question master wins. Sometimes the questions are extremely vague.
