Hi
Could anyone tell me anything about the electric flea zappers for dogs. They look like a comb and are supposed to detect and kill fleas.Do they work? Do they hurt the dog?
I know the drops from vets are the best, just seen one other day and was wondering if they work
THANKS

Worse than useless. Use Frontline Spray from the vet, better than the drops.
HI

I recently rehomed a rescue dobermann in very bad condition - her coat especially, which the vet said was down to fleas & mites. You can get a spot on treatment called Stronghold which goes onto the back of the neck and goes directly into the bloodstream to treat both parasites and stops them reproducing. You apply the treatement every 4 weeks.

I had an electrin nit comb for the kids and it was very effective. BUT it would not cope with any knots in the hair and it took ages to do but i did not want too many chemicals on the kids. If they are similar gadgets i cant see how you would get them right through the hair to the skin and it would take hours literally. I am afraid i dont worry so much about putting chemicals on the dogs!!
