McAfee Security is it any good?

I know the very basics about computers.
I am just about to buy a wireless laptop from Dell, is McAfee a decent security system as I know when I order my Laptop Dell will offer me it?

You would be better off downloading AVG and Zone Alarm. They are free and better than McAfee.

Thanks MWKE, after doing a bit more delving I have re-read a few previous posts (should have really done that first) AVG seems to have the support/buy-in from lots of AB users! I will go with them! Thanks again.

Dell give you a free subscription for the first x months. Don't bother paying for it once it runs out thought, the free programs mentioned above are just as good.
