This area of AnswerBank is always a bit deserted, curly (pauses to watch tumbleweed roll past). You might get a better response in Celebrity Gossip.

i know but some smart ar*e will say 'This should be in the Radio section blah blah blah' still, thanks for the reply Dr John : )
Hi curly
I am also a nosy bi**h and so decided to dig deeper on the interweb.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Kay

Quote: It is claimed they (Dave Spikey and Neil Fitzmaurice) were upset that Kay named the series "Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights" (albeit an apparent decision by Channel 4 executives) and that Kay insisted on collecting the BAFTA for the series alone.

thanks izzie very interesting article that, and therefore confirms what i have thought for a long time, that this once comic genius has finally disappeared up his own backside!!! cheers for that link x
It would be a shame if he has gone all up himself, because I thought he was quite grounded. And I think he's talented.
Question Author
i agree izzie, but i suppose with that level of success a certain amount MUST go to your head? x
I also gather that P Kay is not very popular with some other comedians. Rumour has it that he steals a lot of material from them. Other than that I think that series 1 of Phoenix Nights is probably the best sit-com i've ever seen.
Just to add to this I know someone who works very closely with Peter and he said he has become a control freak.

When he first started out he was very laid back and enjoyed work now he wants to know where everyone and everything is at every waking moment. Shame I hope it doesn't reflect in his comedy.

Chees and cake did i hear you right?
