stage hypnotist promotion

i have recently started as a comedy stagehypnotist covering cornwall and devon. i have sent lots of publicity to clubs and pubs and i am going to put something in the local paper. i have not found entertainment agencies down here to be helpfull. any ideas how i can promote my show and get some more bookings .i have alo contacted hotels and holiday camps. please help!!! Have you tried offering your service for free for a couple of the larger venues? This would at least get your act known and hopefully attract further bookings from the audience attending.
