I had a crappy little job for 9 years on 18k/annum, when I left, the advert stated my job title and description but the salary was offered between 21k and 25k dependant on experience.
Obviously I would be entitled to the 25k if I were to re-apply but do I have any grounds for requesting some sort of back-pay ?? I guess not but let me know.

No, of course not - but then you knew that! I assume you were paid what was in your contract?

Now, if you were still there and they took on someone else in an identical role on more money.........
maybe the work you did wasn't worth more than 18k? and they want someone with more skills now?
