Hi Joe

My interpretation is that he chooses to be in a Persistant Vegetative State, so that he can remain in 1973.
They just talked about it on bbc3 60second news and although after watching it i was a bit confused as to whether he died or not they said on there he kills him self to go back to th 70's.
Are you sure you want to know? If you can't wait until it's shown again on BBC3 or whatever then I'll detail it below. But if you want to watch it (you should), don't look further down!
Basically he wakes up from his coma but is not happy with his life in the 21st century so jumps from a roof top, finds himself back in 1973. Annie asks him to stay forever, he says okay then they kiss. On the radio he gets a message coming through, he says, I've had enough of that station and retunes to another station. At the end some kids run towards the camera, the last one being the girl from the Test Card, who switches off the telly, your screen goes black. Mr Spudqueen interprets that as he's back in a coma then dies.
Great series - I shall miss it!

Thought this was an interesting article - especially the comments from the writers as to what they intended
