I had some damp work done in my kitchen and dining room. It's now showing signs of the damp returning and a build up of salt. The work was done less than 6 weeks ago. I've contacted the chap who did the work and so far have had to joy getting him to come to my house and acknowledge that the work is not done to satisfaction. I've left endless messages and he's given me times he'd be there but hasn't turned up. Where do I go next? What can I say to make him sit up and pay attention?

if the brickwork was damp the damp will continue to come out with the salts, nothing any builder can do about it, but what work has he done? If he put studding up before new plasaerboards it should last longer than that and he could have put the silver foiled boards up. Hard to comment when you haven't saidwhat work he did
Need to know what work was done before commenting.

No worries people, just found out there's an enforcement order against him. Trading Standards know him well. They'll be turning up at the yard anyday now. <sigh>
