Digital cameras

Anyone recommend a good starter digital camera for under �100? Is it only Kodak that develop pictures in those machines you see, or are all makes compatible? What else do I need, as in memory card etc... like I say, starter, and quite sadly, a bit behind with technology I fear.

Wee bit confused by your question, there is no developing involved in digital cameras, prints are stored on media card and then you print them out as you wish, If you mean does it have to be a Kodak printer with a Kodak camera the simple answer is no.
But there are some good matched bundles on offer where the camera comes with a printer as well but I find that the ink cartridges tend to be a bit on the pricey side for me.

If you want a good starter digital camera give ASDA (yes ASDA) a look ,if you go to one of the bigger branches which has a photo lab in it you can find some really good bargains

Any of the Fuji Finepix are worthy of serious consideration

Thanks DiggerDoo - when I say 'develop' I mean to produce by whatever means. I was talking about those machines that look like ATMs in the Kodak shop, which people are obviously (now) putting their media card into.
I was looking at a Fuji one as it happens. Could the pictures on the media card from a Fuji be printed off in one of these machines, or ASDAs photo lab?
As you say, the cartridges would be expensive to do myself regularly.

Your welcome Morello, the short answer is that any of the photolab readers will take your media card and print, download or transfer to a CD/DVD as you wish it does not not matter what manufacturer it is made by.

Asda were doing a really good deal on a nifty little Fuji which came with an extra card and some extra bells and whistles so I stand on my recommendation. I use Tesco to transfer onto CD and then pick and choose at home which print to download ( works for me cost wise).
