Hello everyone,

Bit of a bague question, but it shall give you all plenty of scope.
I work in Central London, however live along the South coast, so commute roughly 5 hours a day. Having such a long commute, I like to have alot of chillout music on my mp3 player, in order to help me relax and sleep.
However 5 hours of music a day...I am running out of ideas, so am turning to the answer bank peoples to help.
I am looking for relaxing music, but not general "Ibiza Chillout" style stuff, as I have heard it all far too much.
I like Sigur Ros alot, they hit the nail on the head most of the time, Elbow, Mogwai, Pink Martini....

So what do you like to relax to guys?

HELP!

Groove Armada are worth a look. Easy All Stars' Dub Side of the Moon is a good interpretation of Dark Side of the Moon.... The Orb are very horizontal also...
May I suggest the album "ALL SAINTS" by David Bowie. Basically it is all his instrumentals from his entire back catelogue. There are quite a few Eno orientated songs which puts me in to a peaceful slumber everytime, if needs be.

It is secondhand on Amazon.co.uk now for 3.49 but have seen it sell on ebay for 1.

Shpongle are amazing, check out the psy trance chill side.
Radiohead have a lot of chilled stuff, ok computer is the biz
explosions in the sky are good.
also, godspeed you black emporer, bit like mogwai.

As someone who likes a lot of chillout but occasionally goes a bit indie for a change, I'd recommend The Cure's "Disintegration". It's really beautiful, chilled out stuff.
I think Deepest Blue are excellent and definitely worth trying. Some might say this falls under 'Ibiza chillout' but I disagree, I think their whole album Late September is lovely and you should definitely give it a go!
5 hours a day commuting ????
Ever thought of getting a job nearer to home?
South Coast....er..deck chair attendant...beach party Superstar DJ.
You could then listen to Baby Fratelli once on the way to work and you would be there.
Problem solved !!
Try The Blue Nile
Only 4 albums in 24 years - but each a little gem
i recommend this mortal coil. they do some great reworkings of beautiful songs by the likes of tim buckley & roy harper, often better than the originals. much more interesting than chillout stuff.
Kruder & Dorfmiester, Lemon Jelly, Acid Bath, try those esp kruder, good stuff.
