ell most dogs get enlarged hearts as they get older, also did your dog ever have heartworm? If so, this may be the cause. Once a dg has an enlarged heart it may suffer any of the following: exercise intolerance, chronic coughing, difficulty breathing, fainting, weakness, depression. The vet may prescribe either a special diet or medications to help control the heart rate and amount of blood flowing through the heart.
