What narrow minded responses! Police vehicles have to be funded from annual budgets so Chief Constables have to decide whether they can afford new vehicles, maintain older ones or buy a new a new police officer instead. Our local CC decide to reduce the numbers of vehicles, employ more new officers and then wondered why response times weren't met. Big clue? Police cars get there faster than bobbies on foot especially over a long distance...
