has anyone taken this and how long did it take for you to get pregnant? I am due to start taking this soon but am really concerned as I have already had 2 miscarriages one at 16 weeks and not sure whether to go through with it or not even though I am desperate to have a baby. Any advise is much appreciated.

Hi there, my wife took Clomid before having our first son. She also had 2 miscarriages and was also concerned but we were reassured that there is no link between Clomid and miscarriage. I would warn you that Clomid can lead to emotional outbursts shortly after you take them and I would advise that you and your partner are both aware of this and are prepared to keep your distance if necessary for a couple of days a month. If your problem is to do with polycystic ovaries, ask your GP about treatment with Metformin.
Good luck.
Awww sounds like you really want a child and will love and care for it. Good Luck with everything.

As for taking Clomid, do you have PCOS? Cos if you get pregnant with clomid and miscarry, these are not related, it's just pure bad luck, one of them things.

Good Luck anyway, I really hope things go well, I'm thinking of you spanner *hugs*
BTW metformin has nothing to do with fertility, I know you're only trying to help though :o)

Metformin alters the blood sugar levels, hence it is mainly used for diabetics. It's used for PCOS sufferers in an attempt to regulate weight management. It's not 'the pill'.

Hope this helps!

thank you for your answers. I do already have 2 children from a previous marriage but I am desperate to have one with my new husband. I have very slight pcos but this isnt causing my infertility. so far I have been screened for genetic problems hormones and had a hysteroscopy and everything is fine. I am waiting for the results of the sample they took to come back but he said everything looked perfect. so I dont know why after faloing pregnant with my other children with no problem that it takes me a year to get pregnant and then miscarry. Just all a bit daunting really as I dont know how I would react if I lost another one. Thanks for your kind words. I will try and keep you updated.

I have been given 4 months worth but I was planning to give it until December and give up. It's been 3 years now and I dont think it's fair to take what someone with no children could have. I have already decided never to have IVF as I have 2 children and would prefer to give childless couples a chance.
i hope everthing works out for you i would give the tabs a go if nothing else. you never know if you dont try
