Backing up itunes

I want to back up my itunes by copying my itunes library folder onto my ipod ( using it as a usb storage device) so i can copy it all to my apple mac, will it screw up my ipod by having it set to windows then plugging it into a mac?

No it'll be fine. It'll be formatted as FAT32 which the Mac likes.

But if you already have your music on your iPod, it may be easier to just use yamipod or Senuti to transfer your stuff:
