after serious consideration decided to insure my dear partner to drive my car - he's a learner driver and as I'm not too well today let him drive me to tesco. Unfortunately he decided that he'd park right beside a lamp post!! but much to his surprise and mine he ran my car right alongside it and the scratches are pretty bad (though I don't think too deep) - would it have to be a professional touch up job ?

The relationship or the car!!LOL
Try making him T-Cut it first to get the worst of it out. If it still looks bad then professional help may be required.
Depending on the colour of the car ie metallic silver (easy to hide minor scratches) or solid black(sctratches show up like a ******) then try a local valetter or car repair centre and see if they can buff the scratches out with some compound. Might cost 2o odd quid or so but its a cheaper alternative to having one side resprayed
Look up "Chips Away" in Yellow Pages

thanks for those answers

think I'll try the cheapest option first - T'cut then see what happens - the car is a dark blue but not metallic so here's hoping it'll come out ok!

why do men always have to do it their own way?!?
