Removing scratch marks from a car...?

So someone side swiped my charcoal Ford Fiesta 2007 3-door hatchback today and I had two questions regarding the scratches (which cover the back left panel):

1. How do I safely wipe away the plastic residue left by the other car’s bumper without causing further damage to the paint job?
2. What are my options in regards repairing the area? (There is only a slight dent so it is the scratch marks I am mostly interested in fixing)

Thanks heaps.

Try some Farecla polishing compound (Superfine finish) if you can find it.
Next best something like T-Cut.
Most will come off.
if they are deep scratches and not just surface stuff paintings the only option, that farecla stuffs really good so will remove the other cars paint and any light scratches, best thing to do is rub your fingernail over them and if you can clearly feel them prob have to paint, if the rubbing compound works then ring up a local dent man to *** weather they can repair withont paintowrk
