I can see them, peppy. That's mainly 'cause I'm the one sending them! And it's not kerosene you smell; it's butane. The next lot to come over will have a lower trajectory...watch out!!
cant see the arrows but i do know they DONT run on butane !!!
most modern military jet engines run on jp8, a kerosene based fuel !!!

you lucky thng I love them. My dream is to go in one of them or a harrier. fantastic. Im a sad cow I even get excited flying in anormal plane.
I had the good fortune to see them in Eastbourne last year.

Pure magic.
No but I wish I could. I love them.
They used to be based near where I worked and on the day I left my job for a promotion they were performing a perfect "Diamond Nine" just as I left the office for the last time. I reckon it was to say "Good Luck" just for me.
Where sre they?
was sitting on brighton beach 30 years ago and the red arrows came from nowhere out of the horizon. i nearly pi@@ED myself.
I wish!!!

We were lucky enough to hear the Euro Fighter going over to....??? it is an eerie sound and no other jet comes near...

It did make us think about the people in the war zones that do have to hear that and know it's a serious sound......

Also saw the Lancaster, Hurricane and Spitfires going over.... Biggin Hill is close lol....
I just about see them everyday practicing.. a common sight for those who like me live in Lincoln
no i cant see (or hear them) where i am. but like most of you LOVE THEM -- i get such a thrill when i do get to see the Red Arrows, even if they're on t.v. I'm glued to the spot.
And like SPANNER7853 i would love to fly in one and also get a thrill just being in a 'normal' plane (no you're not the only sad cow out there SPANNER, I'm one too !)...
I know I'd like to go and see the RED BULL Air Race.......
No - But I see them every year as they always come and do a show over the Solent for Cowes Week. I live on the edge of Southampton Water so we frequently have Spitfires, Lancasters, Hurricanes and a few years ago a 'Diamond 9' of Tiger Moths. I love seeing any planes but partcilarly the Spitfires you can tell it's them before you see them and they always bring a lump to the throat as they seem to represent both pride and loss at the same time.
ok,,bad subject,,,im having palpatations just reading this,,,,,i was on way to pub,,a year or so bk,was walking to end of my road, and they came out of nowhere, straight over top of me,,followed by summit else,,,orga sm dont even come close, lol
Lonnie I go to Eastbourne every year as it's not far from me. When the weather is noce the harriers come along the beach and bow at the crowd, it's fantastic.
i try and make a point of going to the sunderland air show every year, its an amazing spectacle, they had an F117 do a flyover a couple of years ago, that thing shouldnt be able to fly.
be careful if you're ever walking on the moors up in northumberland though, you may get a sudden visit from a tornado doing about 500 knots at 200 feet!!! a tad noisy! lol
ok,before i head off to northumberland,,the lowestoft airshow in july is pukka, and the bowing harriers def give ya a thrill,,they're all there, arrows, the lot,,love it,
