I have been given a parking ticket for parking in a Mecca Bingo car park in Oldham. I did not see any warning signs (otherwise I would not have parked there), and the signs are not obvious. Do I still have to pay the fine? Are the operating company not obliged to prominently display warning signs?

Appeal. You might still have to pay, but it does seem unreasonable, so you may have a good case. Write to the company who gave you the ticket and explain, you might get lucky. Citizen's advice can give you details of whether you legally have to pay - I think if there are some signs up, even if they are fairly unobvious, then you probably are legally bound to pay, but it's always worth appealing.
