I hate texting, but still do it! My boyfriend does not live locally and we see each other rarely. Mainly down to his work. But he never rings or communicates unless I (usually) text him first.. Then I get a reply (as I usually text in the evening as we both work) which reads.... now off to bed, sleep well. Thats it. The one text a day, instigated by me!

I tell him I love you, he replies, love you too!

Do you think he really does not care that much.

Not sure as everyone is different. Has he always been like this? What's he like when he does see you?

Personally....I'm rubbish with phone calls and texts.
How often is rarely Trinny ? It doesn't matter what the ' norm ' is as long as it works for YOU. All you have to do is ask yourself if your needs are being met, if so, no problem !! If not, think long and hard xxx
Why don't you try not texting him for a while and see if he actually rings you?
In this situation I'd try not texting him and see how long it takes him to text me - but that's me. I find, as a girl, I over analyse texts and emails - he probably doesn't think there's anything wrong with what he's doing - the fact that it's stressing you out probably hasn't occured to him. Can you talk to him about it?
trinny! my bf has a phone and he never ever ever txts me unless i txt him! i think with men who dont tend to use a mobile as much as women do! use their phone only when they have to!

when you phone him how does he sound then? does he sound like he isnt bothered that your ringing? does he ever say i love you first (when you ring)?
maybe you need to talk things through with him hunnie xx if you want to chat let me no and il give you my e-mail addy xxx
Personally speaking, if I was away from my loved one, I would want to phone her at least once a day, if I couldn't phone then I would text!!

I find it hard to imagine that what you are describing is real love!! I cant imagine being in love and not wanting to hear my lovers voice nearly everyday, I accept that this maybe not always be possible, but it sounds more like, lack of commitment!!

Sorry!!

We are all different, but love is love!!
I don't think of myself or Mr Sense being overly slushy, but he travels all over the world and still manages to phone almost every day, time difference permitting. Your guy maybe a lazy boy ... or not bothered ... don't do it first and see what his reaction is.

I have decided not to make first contact anymore (been on my mind for a while to see how this approach works)

Today, no valentine card, or flowers :( just a text to say he was abroad and have a happy valentine.

Thankyou all for your advice and replies.
