Text size on my computer

I have just have Windows XP loaded on and when on the internet, the text size is so small. When I go to view to enlarge the text, it does not stay this size after logging out and back in.
How can I make the text stay at a reasonable size without having to squint all the time.
Also this sizing problem affects my Solitaire game. My deck of cards are so minute. you cannot tell the suit of the cards.

it should work if you go to view and text size but if it doesnt try unistalling the browser you have and install it back
